BRICS Pay App and BRICS Pay Wallet — two different apps
The names look alike, but these are two different products. One is for paying merchants, the other for crypto. We explain the difference and help you decide which one to install.
Short version: travelling and paying at cafes and shops — install BRICS Pay. Working with crypto — install BRICS Pay Wallet. Both apps come from the same publisher — NB PAY FZCO (Dubai).
BRICS Pay
Payment app for shopping in BRICS+

- Holds balance in several currencies at once: roubles, yuan, rupees
- Sign-up by phone or email

BRICS Pay Wallet
Self-custody crypto wallet
- Self-custody — keys stay only with you (seed phrase). Plain words: in a regular bank, money sits with the bank and you access it via a card. Here only you know the 12–24-word seed phrase, without which not even the developer can move your funds.
- Supports 600+ cryptocurrencies: Bitcoin, Ethereum, USDT, BNB, XRP, Solana and more
- Buy / sell / swap crypto in-app
- Staking — “lock” crypto and earn yield like a bank deposit. Up to 20% APY on ETH, TRX, SOL.
- DEX aggregator — compares rates across decentralised exchanges and picks the best
- Connects to Web3 apps via WalletConnect
- Built-in AML check for suspicious addresses
Who needs it: people working with crypto who want full control over their assets.

- Buy/trade crypto — get BRICS Pay Wallet: store, swap, stake.
- Both — install both; in the future they will work together.
Self-custody vs a regular bank
In a regular bank your money lives at the bank. The card is a “pass” to access it. Lose the card — the bank issues a new one. The bank fails — the state pays back via deposit insurance. Convenient but the money itself isn’t in your hands.
Self-custody is the opposite. The cryptocurrency lives on the blockchain itself, and the key to your “safe” is a seed phrase: 12 or 24 words known only to you. No company can “take” your funds, freeze them or refund. But there is no insurance: lose the seed phrase and you lose the money.
Write down the seed phrase on paper, put it in a safe place (a vault, a safety-deposit box). Don’t store in cloud, don’t keep in phone notes, don’t take photos of it. Never show it to anyone, not even support staff. Anyone who knows your seed phrase can drain the wallet.
